The Baku Military Court continues to hear the criminal case against Armenian nationals accused of committing grave crimes against humanity and violations of international humanitarian law. Today's session focused on the testimonies of victims.
Rafig Guliyev, a resident of the village of Garadaghli, recounted multiple attacks by Armenian forces, including shelling of civilians, acts of torture, and murder. He also answered questions about life during the occupation of the village.
"They told us, chr("39")Karabakh is Armenian. Leave,chr("39")" Guliyev recalled.
During the occupation, he, his father Alastan Guliyev, and his mother were taken captive by Armenian soldiers. Along with other hostages, they were loaded into trucks and transported toward Khankandi. Near a location known as Beylik Baghi, the convoy was stopped - and several prisoners were killed on the spot. Rafigchr("39")s father later died in captivity as a result of torture inflicted by Armenian troops.
"My mother was released after 13 days. I was held for 45. We were beaten every day. They gave us a piece of bread and a little water - just enough to survive. But the torture never stopped," he said.
The trial remains ongoing. The accused face serious charges, including genocide, war crimes, aggressive warfare, terrorism, and other offenses committed during Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan.
